This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasnât disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

Esperanza de Triana, Sevilla, Semana Santa 2022, 08
The Virgin of Hope of Triana was delivered in 1816 to the corporation by Juan de Astorga. In 1898 a fire ravaged the altar where this Virgin was in the church of San Jacinto. For that reason, Gumersindo JimĂ©nez de Astorga made a new face and new hands to the Virgin. On the occasion of the Mariana Exposition of 1929 it was restored by Castillo Lastrucci. In 1981 and 1989 it was restored by Luis Ălvarez Duarte.
In the last decade of the nineteenth century the Virgin of Hope was accompanied by Saint John the Evangelist and Saint Mary Magdalene forming the mystery of the Sacred Conversation.
The Virgin of Hope was canonically crowned on June 2, 1984 by Archbishop Carlos Amigo Vallejo with bull of Saint John Paul II Previously, the Mayor Manuel del Valle gave the Virgin the Gold Medal of the city.
