The Man in the Maze, characterized by seven concentric circles, is a continuous circular labyrinth, represented in the basket making and silver smithing of the American Southwest, especially among the Tohono O'Odham nation of Southern Arizona. An important symbol of the Hopi people and many other Native American tribes, it represents the maze of life and the twin themes of life and choice.
